Passage by a Worm

Intact in small space, a lone worm roams,
Unaware of surroundings, it calls its home.
Sympathy, empathy, now part of its bones,
Wondering what lies ahead as it roams.

Space expands, yet traces are faint,
Feet grow cold, heart feels restraint.
Warming with hand, efforts quaint,
Seeking something lost, a distant saint.

Frustration rises, beyond its grasp,
A mystery lingers, within its clasp.
Confusion reigns, in a circular rasp,
Lost in a cycle, in a relentless gasp.

Reminiscing happiness, a forgotten tune,
Lips yearn to smile, eyes to commune.
Dreams of fields, beneath the moon,
But fear and weeping, like a monsoon.

Desire for solitude, where voices cease,
Alone in solace, finding inner peace.
Yet the time is not ripe, fear won't release,
As the fragile vase nears its decease.
