Hangmans Theory
James Groseclose 1983 (United States)
As I lay here
Scared and weary
Mind is racing
Broken theories
Thoughts of past
Unclear view
Gone the last
Left with you
No more sounds
Just the pain
Repeating nights
It feels the same
Amongst the cries
There comes no voice
Lay in the ground
Dirt by choice
Upon the hill
Where life was taken
Death now lives
The rest forsaken
As I lay here
In the dark and weary
Mind is failing
Mended theories
Against the day
The dark will rise
Fade as us
Become the night
Become the hatred
We each spread
Leave all behind
All are dead
Upon the hill
Where death resides
Come the shriek
With his cries
We have become
Death and jury
Burn the scum
The rest we'll burry
No holes dug
None were meant
To earn the stone
Their names regret
Unless we change
Each life to steal
Fighting battles
What's false or real
They will find you
In the shadows
Meant for darkness
In the gallows
As I lay here
Scared and weary
Come the names
Hangman's Theory.
