Muse

Layna Martinez 1999 (New Jersey)

Free verse
They say the greatest works of art,
are created from that of pain.
So, I don’t know whether to love you or hate you,
for driving me insane.

I used to think having a muse would be lovely,
now I find it to be cruel.
You inspire me to create,
but you’ve turned me into a fool.
