For Me

SADLY WHATS FOR ME IS NOT FOR ME
IT TAKES ROOT FAR FROM HOME AND LEAVES ME HOPELESS WHEN IM ALONE
IT GROUNDS ITSELF WITH ANOTHER TO TOUCH IT
SIT NEAR ITS ROOTS AND PROMISE IT NOTHING
SOAK UP ITS SHADE AND LEAVE IT BURNING
THE HOTTER THE DAY THE DEEPER THE YEARNING
WHATS FOR ME IS NOW A POSSESSION FOR ANOTHER
THEY PLACE A VALUE ON SOMETHING THAT IS TRULY PIT TAKES ROOT IN THEIR YARD
PRICELESS FOR OTHERS
FABRICATE TALES WHILE THE LEAVES BEGIN TO FALL
THEY DON'T NOTICE WHATS FOR THEM IS NOT THEIRS AT ALL
GIVES THE H BACK TO THEIR HOME
FILLS THEIR LIVES WITH FLEETING JOY AND YET IT HAS ANOTHER PLACE TO CALL HOME
A PLACE IT LEFT BEHIND AND THE WALLS A SHALLOW HOLE
IT LEFT BURNING RAGE AN INFERNO
IT LEFT SHADELESS DAYS AND BARE SOULS
WHATS FOR ME IS NOT FOR ME
IT USED TO BE BUT NOW ITS FOR ANOTHER
