The Art of Non-Violence

We humans are born,
With the universally sole purpose of,
Inheriting this vast and beautiful,
Life sustaining planet,
For a short period of time,
Till we finally pass on,
While at the same time,
Contributing to some or the other legacy,
For future generations.

Pray dear fellow humans,
Let this legacy be one,
Of peace , love and harmony,
Of eradicating inequality , poverty ,hunger and disease,
Of social , economical or cultural gain.

Pray let the pen be mightier,
Than the sword,
Let words of peace echo,
From now till eternity,
Till the weapons of destruction,
Both small and mass,
Stop their horrendous path,
Of taking us humans,
To an irreversible extinction.

History has shown,
The story of how,
A lover of non-violence,
Through his words and deeds,
Forced one of the great empires,
To grant his people freedom,
From tyranny and oppression.

Pray let us follow the light,
Shown by this great Mahatma,
And heal life itself for all,
By humbly seeking and understanding,
The Art of Non-Violence.
