She’s a conversationalist
Sharing wisdom and life’s experiences
Living in her past a bliss of unhappiness
Shackled in the walls of her mind
Longing and visualizing to be free
Existing in her body  facing tormenting
She realizes her situation requires mental agility
Wondering why this is happening to me
Doing as I’m told, having to wash and fold
No outlet, I’m trapped inside these walls
I cry out, if you let me be free, I put my faith in thee
Guide me through darkness so I can see
A way out to start a new day, show me a new way
I long to be set free
A chance to just let me be
Set me free, set me free
I’m free to be my own me

About this poem
