It Isn't About Love

It isn't about love.
Is it?
And if it was received to give,
Why is love said by many...
Wished more to feel,
Real given from others.
To touch and hold.
And known without it told!

People are often heard to hear,
A loving for a pet.
Or things purchased to get.
Yet...
Love can not be bought or sold.
To exchange for something new.
That replaces what has grown old.

It isn't about love.
Is it?
And if it was a love to treasure,
From other human beings to receive it.
There would be nothing else to wish for.
Since love to feel to know that feeling,
As real as it can get.
Is kept more precious,
To give and not expect...
It inspected to accept by others.
On the basis of looks.
And the appearance of it to approve.

Is this or is this not,
About love?
Or...
Is this about impressions made?
Until others agree,
A choice to select that pleases someone...
Could have been much better,
If they had asked...
For recommendations.
Or at least suggestions.
That would for them,
Make a much better match!
For them and everyone else,
To approve and look at!
