BomboGenesis
About this poem
This poem is about me running against a coming storm. It is a metaphor for the weather I carry inside and the weather I face in Nature. I like themes of paradox, Fire vs. cold, Running vs slowness. I also like the sound and play of language-Bombogenesis vs. a Genesis of a bomb, Stoke Stoves etc. This was a real event. I run every morning and there was a Bombogenesis storm heading up the coast and would drop some nasty weather on us. Despite the nasty forecast and temperatures, I pushed myself out of bed, donned my running gear, and slowly moved myself over the country roads while others were just waking up and firing up the stoves and clicking on the lights against the black dawn. more »
