Aching

Aching

I see you,  when the tears that drown your heart
and your smile has been completely forsaken.
Don't worry, this will pass with time
heart aching, it's just your heart, Aching.

My momma once told me,
be glad it's God, who does the taking.
We know nothing will replace the face,
heart broken, missing parts, and an empty space
she wants you to smile though, she now lives in a better place
two places actually, not far apart
in heaven, now let her live in your heart.
She knows you miss her, all the memories of those years,
but you know she doesn't want your tears.

When she left pain, her pain began to end
such a season of sorrow, empty tomorrow's
dwelling on the pain of an absence and
the void has no end
Your grief is out of love and respect
just take this time to smile and reflect.
Rely on the good times,
the smiles, the laughs only she could do
live like she is watching
so shine like she would want you to do
live like she would want you to,
smiling all the way through,
AND YOU KNOW IT TOO!

Loves lost, life can steal friends like a thief,
let your sorrow go, let her rest in peace
In the heavens, up above
she looks down on you with love
and even though your hearts breaking,
you have my love to keep your heart from aching.

About this poem

This poem is about knowing a friend or loved is grieving and down. I wrote this for the words to say, when there are no perfect words. Dedicated to my Mom and Lindsay, two angels who brightened our world...
