There have been times in my life
When there was nothing but sad
If the darkness consumes you
There is little but bad
When you have disappointed so many
And feel only the fear
Of a never ending hate
Built up through the years
 
It is times like these
That can bring you to the end
Of a life you once had
The man you were then
 
When you have given yourself
To the darkness and fear
And surrendered all hope
Of seeing another year
A light in the distance
Just a flicker no more
A light you can reach for
An angel I am sure
 
Through time this light
Can comfort and cure
Can replace all the hate
With hope, with a love so pure
A new hope so strong
That from time to time
will make you cry
Not from the darkness
From the light in your life
 
This light that I see
The angel that saved me
Has given me the hope
That I needed to guide me
And to you who has shown me
A love so pure

I can see now why I am here
The simplest of questions
That before was shrouded with fear
