The Secret

They all worry.
Slinking around behind stretched grins,
Waiting to be caught in the act.
Caught acting.
The performance of a lifetime,
Performing a life time and time again,
A merry-go-round of convincing the rest they are exactly what they seem,
no more no less.
Unless, more or less is what they think the others require,
Then they more or less become that instead.
Everyone has fun at the carnival, right?
Just look at those smiling faces examining their reflections in those funhouse mirrors.
“Doesn’t get more real than that,” they think,
Jealous of the warped reflections of the others.
