Being Present
Being Present
- Preston Saayman
Each of us a single string of fibre,
twisted and pulled to what is required
easily and frequently plucked when the appearance is not as desired
Yet every strain is in need to form strength and resistant attire
different colors intertwined, same fabric combined
As the kids tjengo blocks stands tall but could easily fall
The slightest shift creates an ominous call unto all
One pulled away, two sent astray, a third hesitantly delayed
Our actions, our choices, our voices has more credit than this game we play
As per request we arrive, with the air in my chest I'm alive
But do we strive to count beyond five, to strive beyond
the things we need to survive and not be deprived from
our pinnacle thrives. - shift the gear and drive, you are alive
life flowing within, blood system, breathing, lungs, thoughts,
images, scents, sounds, taste, touch, all scenery.
your life's success is here, not tomorrow, not in the future. Being here right now is the treasure
of life.
success is not a destination ever reached, it's the quality of your journey
the quality of what we do when we do it, not how we allegedly could or would...
just some gratitude, just some humility, just some integrity, a small leaf wavering through the
woods
A result from branch, bark, stem and roots.
God holds your hand as you wander, He leads.
Everything happens as it should, even when it's just the fall of a beautiful leaf.
About this poem
From the perspective of a hard working employee at any level. Getting carried away with work and not realizing how far they came and where they already stand in life.
