Goodnight, my sweet rain and beloved heart.

Jade Keen 2010 (California)

In the midnight rain, I sit quietly and wait. Waiting for what exactly? I'm not sure. But as I wait and think, I think of you. I think of what could've happened if I didn't say those words. “I love you". I look up at the sky, letting the cold, midnight rain smother me, something you never did. I soon realize, I've been waiting for you. Maybe I think that you'll finally love me, but I don't know of course. So I wait and wait for this miracle to happen, it never does. It's freezing, but I don't go inside. It will just bring back the memories of me and you. I lay in the rode, thinking, waiting, freezing. I close my eyes. I hear a car racing, deep down I'm hoping it's you. It's coming closer, the headlights are bright. So, you didn't come to save me after all. You really hate me enough to end my life this way. Goodnight, my sweet rain and my beloved heart.
