Hourglass of Life

The hourglass of life glistens...

Trapped,
days of sand will continuously slip away.

To the dismay of all,
they will not stay in place.

Between each grain resides particulates of hope,
unable to escape the ampoules,
the sense of home.

Force is inevitable if the glass is not malleable,
the consistency unbreakable,
as is the will of life.

However...
it is the decision of an outer,
unbeknownst factor
whether to turn the hourglass around
and capture - time.
