Choices

Robert T. Davenport 1979 (Newark, New Jersey)

Choices
By Robert T. Davenport

In the realm of life's vast tapestry,
Where choices weave our destiny,
Lies the power to shape our fate,
To determine the path we create.

With every step, a choice is made,
A chance to shine or to evade,
To embrace the light or dwell in shade,
To conquer fears or be afraid.

Choose to rise when others fall,
To stand tall, to give your all,
To chase dreams with relentless might,
To never back down from the fight.

Choose to love when hate surrounds,
To heal wounds, to bridge the bounds,
To spread kindness like a gentle breeze,
To sow seeds of hope, to plant love's trees.

Choose to forgive, to let go of pain,
To break free from the chains that restrain,
To release the burden that weighs you down,
To find solace in peace, to wear love's crown.

Choose to learn from every mistake,
To grow stronger, to never break,
To embrace failure as a stepping stone,
To rise above, to claim your throne.

Choose to be true to your own voice,
To make your own path, to make your own choice,
To follow your heart, to trust your soul,
To let your inner fire take control.

For in the end, it is our choices that define,
The legacy we leave behind,
So choose wisely, choose with care,
For your choices shape the world we share.
