Unrequited Cruelty

In a world of dreams a tale of unrequited love, harsh and cruel unfolded.
A young woman, adorned with emerald eyes,
Cascades of red hair, like fire in sunrise.
A man ugly and older but all heart. Eyes a similar hue.

Her beauty, like an enigmatic spell,
Captivating hearts, weaving stories to tell.

His love, like a river, flowed deep and true,
Yet, she looked past him, her sights askew.
Unseen, unnoticed, his heart's vibrant beat,
She lost in a crowd, of younger fit men his heart was lost to her.

Confused by the surge of emotions he was experiencing, he couldn't help but question the validity of this newfound attraction. How could it be possible to feel such a profound connection without hardly knowing her. Love at first sight was anything but rational, and yet, it gripped him with an undeniable force.

He asks her to exchange contact details, she says alright later, but nothing.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, but his infatuation for her only grew stronger. Every encounter, every stolen glance, fueled the fire of this unexpected passion. He couldn't understand why he was so captivated by someone he hardly knew. His mind yearned for logical explanations, but his heart refused to be silenced.

She danced through life, like petals in the breeze,
Radiant, enchanting, a heart at ease.
He watched from afar, his green eyes filled with longing,
Silent prayers whispered, his soul softly thronging.

But the cruel hands of fate, with wicked decree,
Led her to another, her heart now set free.
Ignored, dismissed, his love left to crumble,
As her heart embraced another's with ease.

Lastly, a Christmas party. No words spoken then you gave your number to a guy who was sat next to me right in front of my face. Oh how long had I waited for that? Yet you knew what you were doing, showing your true feelings when you could have done this without me seeing.

Yet he remained, steadfast in his devotion,
While she wandered, unaware, in a different ocean.
Foolishly, he'd dream, in shadows so thin,
That one day, her heart would turn and let him in.

Though tears may stain his weary, saddened soul,
His love, an ember, would never grow cold.
For in his heart, a flame will forever burn,
A testament to love, from which he'll never turn.

In the tapestry of life, their paths may diverge,
But his love, evergreen, would not be submerged.
With green eyes, he'd watch as their story unfurled,
Knowing deep in his soul, he loved her, this red-haired girl.
