Up the wrong river

JESUS BETANCOURT 1955 (New York)

A convict transferring to prison in Sing Sing
Escaped on way up the river dressed as a priest
Ended up at Maryknoll seminary in Ossining
Reverend missing suitcase was innocently fleeced

Trying to avoid going to prison
Impersonated the reverend father
Didn't know priest was assigned to Amazon leper mission
Wishes now he had escaped a little farther
