When the penny drops

Melody of mahogany forests decay
Memories lost in the amber ray
Tides returning to the southern sea
Mountainous cascades turning inside me
Decades delighted the taste buds in death
Warm fires scorching the earths breath
A lifetime lived with and without regret
A longer destiny to be completed yet
What have we all learnt together
Faithful friends and carings of brother
Though what is a lesson without heart
Where does hate end and love start
Is it all just misery
Is all life just that life what is will be
Or does life stand up and make itself count
When the cyclones scream and hurricanes howl
Earthquakes buck and seas reclaim
How can we expect life not to react
When it stands in the middle of what we act
