Peaceful

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

Peaches on the tree
I sit between to see
The branches as they sway
And the paths are always silent, hey
The memory of the tall gate sits untouched for thee
As you sit there still waiting for me
Your hair long since brushed now
Shiny and bright somehow
With the powder puff and creamy oil that was never enough for me to absorb, oh
Your scarfs silky and too soft to stay on
my tiny mind followed yours
Between the dark cupboard doors
the heated blanket and black and white TV, no more
The souls of those logfire silver knights adorn you for sure
And the copper is turned to sunlight that guides you higher on your heavenly tour
I hope you are watching the doves carrying their homes of peace with them
Unblemished
