Image Poem

Nate Cooper 2006 (Missouri)

Alarm goes off and you I shoot up

Open the curtains and see the frost built up on the window

Walk outside, feeling the chillingly sharp breeze hit my warm skin

The layer of warmth protecting me is gone

My socks are wet, I look down and their covered in snow

My mom walks out and tells me that there's no school today

The roads are covered in an icy glaze

I run back inside and cover myself in warmth,

Make a hot chocolate with marshmallows rising to the top of the mug

Today I will do absolutely nothing, because today is a snow day
