A lonely life

There once was a time and place,
That he could have had one more Ace.
But he never had a chance,
To have lasting romance.
To one after another he searched for his love,
Kept praying everyday to God above.
He found this one that was fair and kind,
But he was never on her mind.
He finally found a friend that was true,
Because of the love he had most days were blue.
He could never tell her I love you,
But he tried to show it and everything he do.
He hurt her emotions one time,
And because of it he feels so sublime.
Promise never to do again,
To her it was a big as a sin.
Wished and hope to have her as more than just a friend,
Someone to be with to the end.
Here came his end one day,
There she stood by the way.
Wishing she could have just one more day.
Just to make it up in some way.
