Loving Me Ain’t Easy
By Robert T. Davenport
Loving me ain't easy, I won't deny,
For I am a complex soul, with layers that lie,
Beneath the surface, where shadows may dwell,
But if you're willing to stay, my love, I can tell.
I come with scars, both seen and unseen,
A collection of battles, where I've been,
But within these wounds, there's strength and grace,
A resilience that shines through, in every embrace.
Loving me ain't easy, for I can be a storm,
With emotions that rage, and thoughts that swarm,
But if you can weather the tempest within,
You'll find a love that's fierce, that's pure and akin.
I have my flaws, my imperfections too,
Moments of doubt, where I question what's true,
But in those moments, I need your steady hand,
To remind me of the love that together we withstand.
Loving me ain't easy, I may push you away,
When fear takes hold, and trust starts to sway,
But if you can hold on, with patience and care,
You'll find a love that's worth every tear.
For within the depths of my complicated soul,
There's a love that's genuine, that's destined to grow,
And though it may take time, to fully understand,
Loving me ain't easy, but it's worth it in the end.
So if you're willing to take this journey with me,
To navigate the highs and lows, the uncertainty,
Know that my love, though it may not be smooth,
Is a love that's real, a love that will soothe.
Loving me ain't easy, but it's a love that's true,
A love that's raw, a love that's meant for you,
And if you can embrace all that I am,
Together, we'll create a love that can withstand.
