The Truth About A Lie...
Robert Catron 1963 (Kansas)
I've come to know the truth of a lie,
They hurt all of our feelings and they make us cry.
I don't understand why they were ever started at all,
Did someone say they were needed--who made that call?
Why can't we just open our hearts and tell it like it is,
Then our lives wouldn't have to be as fake as show biz.
Just think what life would be like if no one could ever tell a lie,
No matter what you did the truth would come out-no need to try.
Take a minute now and just let time stand completely real,
Look inside of your hearts and think of how you really feel.
Is your life going just the way that your heart had truly planned,
Or have the lies that you have told made your lives end up shit canned?
If we all take a look inside of ourselves can we make the change,
Get rid of lies forever from our words and make our habits rearrange.
Inside of all of our hearts tests the answers to all of our dreams,
They're just waiting for us to set them free-cause only we have the means.
Life here is so short let's all start a new path-a more truthful one today.
Let's leave all of the lies behind us and finally let our hearts lead the way.
So from this day forward let not one of us ever tell another lie,
Just think of how much water we can save if we never again have to cry!
