Dark Night of the Soul....

In the realm of shadows, where echoes dwell,
The dark night of the soul weaves its spell.
A journey inward, through the abyss,
A quest for meaning, a poignant bliss.

Armored in questions, doubts profound,
Silent battles on internal ground.
The soul grapples with its own despair,
Seeking redemption in the depths there.

Through desolation and the void's expanse,
The dark night dances, a soul takes stance.
Confronting demons, facing the fear,
The soul seeks solace but none is near.

Yet, in the darkness, seeds of light,
Glimmers of hope piercing the night.
Transformation births from the soul's strife,
As the dark night yields to inner life.

From the ashes, a rebirth unfolds,
The soul emerges, its story retold.
The journey through shadows, a sacred scroll,
The dark days of a profound soul.

About this poem

In an effort to understand why my dark night of the soul had thrown me so deeply into the belly of hell, I began to study Carl Jung- the essential father of transpersonal psychology. This led to a deeper understanding of my own journey, and also made me realize I wanted to help people not fall so far as I had fallen. But additionally, to transverse the darkness in an effort to be a light for those who had already fallen into that self made hell, and perhaps, help them find a way back. "One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious." -Carl Jung
