My version of Christmas

'Twas the eve of Christmas, the air crisp and cold,
Not a creature was stirring, as the night took hold.
Stockings were hung, carefully with care,
In hopes that a special guest soon would be there.

With thoughts of sugarplums and bright twinkling lights,
Children lay nestled, full of wonder and delights.
While visions of gifts danced within their heads,
Visions of magic, as they lay in their beds.

Outside in the distance, a gentle sound arose,
Sleigh bells were jingling, and everyone froze.
Up on the rooftop, a swift and lively bound,
A figure emerged, with no words, no sound.

He wore a red coat, trimmed with snowy white,
A twinkle in his eye, his face glowing bright.
With a bag full of dreams and joy by his side,
He stepped into homes, his spirit undenied.

The flickering flames in the fireplace's glow,
Illuminated the room as he moved to and fro.
He delivered his gifts, with a whisper so sweet,
Spreading love and laughter to all he would meet.

From house to house, spreading warmth and cheer,
He embodied the essence of this time of year.
His laughter, contagious, his presence inviting,
Bringing hope and happiness, forever uniting.

And as the night faded, the stars shining above,
He completed his journey, his mission of love.
With a final nod, he bid a fond adieu,
Leaving behind memories, both old and anew.

So let us celebrate this magical holiday,
With kindness and love, in our own special way.
For in the spirit of Christmas, we find delight,
Sharing joy and peace, spreading love's pure light.
