stay small my loves

In a world so big, where dangers may roam,
A dad stands, wishing his kids could stay at home.
He sees them growing, ready to explore,
But in his heart, he just wants something more.

"Stay little," he whispers in the quiet night,
Wrapped up safe in love's warm light.
Outside, the world can be tough and mean,
He wants to shield them, keep the bad unseen.

He knows there's trouble, troubles they might find,
In the stories of life, in the daily grind.
A dad's heart, a place of love and care,
A wish for safety in the open air.

"Stay small, my loves," he softly prays,
Hoping to protect them in so many ways.
But he knows they'll face challenges and strife,
Building their courage and creating their life.

Innocence slipping, like sand through a sieve,
Yet, he hopes they'll carry the love he'll give.
A dad's love, a shield, a caring hug,
Guiding them through this world so big.

He wishes for their joy, for their spirit to twirl,
Aware that life's a journey in this vast, big world.
In his heart, a plea as they begin to unfurl,
For safety, for love, for his boys and girls.
