The Mirror

As I look into the mirror of yesterday, Reflections of time caress my heart;
I see things I wish to undo, Things from which I must depart.
I turn away to regroup my thoughts, Tears stream down my face;
To turn my back on my past, To begin over- start a new race.
I seperate myself from this room, I conquer my pasts and fears;
As I turn to leave,
You reach out- wipe away the tears.
You comfort my heart, for you know, The experience of broken love;
I reach out to see if it's all real, A dream or angel from above.
You turn me around, away from it all, Your shoulder- my rest and refuge;
For I seek out the path,
The mirror, the reflection; new life I choose.
