The Reynard

Exorno 2005 (Cork)

Enclosed in this Gordian Garden of tissues and organs,
resides a Red Reynard; unco galling;
diverting my scholarly application-
To her enthralling presence.

The fox, an enigmatic quadruped;
Rarely interpreted correctly nowadays-
Is deemed either beautiful or just a simple biological principle;
Dangerous if approached heedlessly.

I essay to negate the fox,
Incarcerate it in an unnatural jail,
But despite my illimitable bashes,
In her vicinity, it escapes without fail.

The creature vigours my lips-
to produce cloddish strings of sentences-
That suffice no purpose, other than to breath, her-
pulchritude; extending beyond the realm of the physical.

Alas, reality dawns,
Figmental fantasies remain so;
The enchantress remains out of touch,
And the fox dies at the hands of the rabbit.
