The Ravens of the Crescent Moon

Calvin Schultz 2010 (Portland, Oregon)

The crescent moon shines within the dark night.
Black dahlias dance with rhythm and rhyme.
Darkness covers all, but the moon shines bright.
Life thrives even in the darkest of times.

Ravens frolic within the harsh cold wind.
Dark on dark, but light still glistens within.
Ravens pass through the vibrant moonshine rim.
Dark Feathers fall as midnight comes ag’in.

From the forest far away from their dark keeps.
They sleep peacefully as the moon rises.
As midnight dawns, wolves arise from their sleep.
They dawn closer to where the bright Moon lies.

As the moon sinks into the dark dead sea,
The dark black ravens sing a song of glee.

About this poem

This poem reveals the beauty of darkness and shows there is beauty in darkness. I love nature and its beauty. Light and dark no matter what. There is beauty in everything.
