Stepped Up Dad

Theresa Streshenkoff 1983 (Pittsburgh PA)

I don’t use the term step dad
I call it stepped up dad
A man who takes the step
To stand in as a father figure
Who takes all the bad and the good
As a real man would
All the late nights and tears
Help fight all their little fears
Doesn’t just listen he hears
Someone who steps up and tries
To guide through all the lows and highs
Tries to answers all their how’s and why’s
A stepped up dad is hard to find
Are truly one of a kind
I am blessed to have one for my son
Who has always been here since day one
