Slain By This World

Oh innocent child,
you have been slain
by this world.

No longer may you
indulge in blissful
ignorance,
No longer may you
dream undisturbed…

Your dreams have become
Petrifying visions,
Innocent play has turned
to hateful scheming,
Dark conspiring.

You have been slain
by this world…

Behold!

Arising in your place
is a cold, indestructible
Sculpture.

Formed to armour
Your soul.

Oh innocent child,
You have been slain by this world.

As for you,
dear soul…
By this world
you, my soul,
will not be touched.

In today's life innocence is often found lost in the cauldron of cunning ambition. Innocence of child is taken too often ignored. Innocence needs to be oprotected.
