My Book World

Transported into a another reality
I want to live here forever
No, “do this, don’t do that”
Freedom.
Laws? What’s that?
Sky’s the limit? No. There is no limit.

I’m good- no, great, at school
All A’s on my report card
Look, I made a cake!
You want pasta? That’s a breeze
I can make whatever you like with ease
I’ll even make myself some lies- I mean pies

I tell myself what to do
Make my own rules
Though there’s only a few
Boring? Not a word in my dictionary
Force? An action forbidden in my world
Love? Always unconditional

Sad and angry
Annoyance and rudeness
A balanced world
Happy and calm
Contentment and courtesy
An even scale

I made a mistake, what do I do?
Oh that’s right, just click “Undo”
My own personal backspace button
Never need to fret again
No more regret
No more guilt

The bell rings
I’m taken out of my daydream
Oh how i wish i could live there forever
I don’t wanna come back
I don’t wanna face reality
Can I please just live in my book world?

About this poem

This is a poem about my perfect world that I visit when I daydream. Using book-like elements, I carefully crafted it so that it’s like I’m reading a book when I’m in this world of mine. This world is a polar opposite of my reality. I wish that I could live in my book world forever, but unfortunately I’ve always gotta get back to reality.
