It was a sunny day Sunday”
IGNATIUS BRITTO P 1982 (MADURAI)
“It was a sunny day Sunday”
When my long awaited dream to come true...
I couldn't sleep the previous night,
Counting every minute to bring the sun out of its shell.
It was a sunny day Sunday
I was half-awake to see the day brightening in front of me...
If at all I had slept a bit, I would've woken up to my feet
To chase the long awaited dream to come true.
It was a sunny day Sunday
My glorious moment triggered me through the tick of the wall clock...
I bade goodbye to my mom and set off to the
mysterious side of the earth
only I thought I knew but it wasn't true...
It was a sunny day Sunday
There was no locomotive, which can take me there...
I can use only drrrrrrrrrrrrr...baaambam...drrrrr...with my two wings of feet as long as
I was less heavy...I felt like that...
That experience even the most extravagant wagon cannot give you...
It was a sunny day Sunday
Somehow, I reached the place of mystery, the Promised Land...
Omg! I couldn't control my horses; they were neighing loudly inside
very very quietly outside...
Because my aunt opens the door of her house...
As usual exchanging pleasantries pleasantly...
It was a sunny day Sunday
She was in the middle of her afternoon nap
So like a robot she asked me a set of questions
by the time I was about to complete answering she hit the bed
Continued her snoring...
Oh thank God, that moment I felt like I was all alone in the whole world...
It was a sunny day Sunday
Did I tell you why this expedition for? No?
Walk with me...you will understand it...
I don't want to break the egg so soon, I triple checked
If there were anyone around so that I could slip away as planned...
Only the cocks, hens and some street dogs...
I stepped out of the house to take a left turn at the end of the road...
It was a sunny day Sunday
One of my senior advisers caught hold of me...from my backside
I managed a diplomatic smile cautiously not telling him where I was missioned to.
He invited me to join cricket, I never had crush on that lazy game at all...
I passed him without any word...
It was a sunny day Sunday
The most auspicious moment in the world was in front of me,
planets all had been in line for me to
join in the training...
What! No! It was a chance to learn swimming from the pond...
I always had a crush on swimming in open waters but being in the city,
I never had a percentage of chance...
It was a sunny day Sunday
At last, all-powerful master, I reached the spot of my anticipated dream
Stood there in the mud bund as if I had already won a gold medal from
the international swimming federation...a moment I rehearsed the feeling,
my friends were there shouting at me to jump into the water...
It was a sunny day Sunday
I was walking like Mr. Bean towards the pond...one of them grew impatient was
about to throw me into the pond...but he couldn't...a moment everything
in the world stopped moving...I feared that the something as usual has attractively
appeared to block my endeavor...
It was a sunny day Sunday
As I feared positively there was one figure, which
caught my shirt collar and pulled me off the
ground...like a plant uprooted from a place to next...
Omg! My grand…mother stood there with furious eyes,
a spark from her angry volcano stung me excruciatingly,
gave me a slap on my cheek and on my thigh...it was painful...
along with a pain my coaches too vanished from the scene, hid behind the huge tree...
It was a sunny day Sunday,
I cursed that moment, but off late I learned that those precious people
were the great robbers of local area and wanted criminals in the local police station...
Whether they were robbers or smugglers,
yet they offered me to teach swimming,
What’s wrong with you people...?
I got another blow on my cheek for asking this question...
