INSIDE MY MIND

Rhonda lee nelson 1970 (Fairfax virginia)

You think you know what's in my mind. I promise you this,I'm one of a kind.
God has bred me.for.the things I've endured.
One less abused with an extension cord.
I'm not looking for any sympathy, cause, someone out there has it worse than me.
Their minds are not able to handle their pain, often losing themselves. They go completely insane.
Beaten, Burned, Raped and Abused, but make No.mistake. I am NOT confused!
It's up to us who we will be. Abuse to abuse? That's not how I see!
It's not passed on with that much ease, often confused as a family disease.
But Inside Mind, where the walls could fall. All must do is give God a call.;-)

About this poem

Honestly, I wrote this when I was 15 and everything and much much more is true. I had been through so much . In 1976 I was taken from my parents after being badly burned and put in hospital , the protective custody . Never to return. I went through fosterhomes and group homes because Noone wanted a 5 year old damaged little girl. Placing me became harder the older I became. So many bad things conti used to happen in these places. Theses poems were never suppose to go anywhere but in a drawer until I became a adult and realized so. many have gone through the same or worse. I hope this shows the world what I chose to make of it.
