I love a boy.

I love a boy. Not a man.
He reminded me of summer,
His eyes were as blue as the bright sky,
His hair was as blonde as the flowers in the field,
He was exciting, energetic and always knew what to say.
I love a boy.
He reminded me of the fall,
His eyes were as blue as the water reflecting from the sky,
His hair was as blonde, beautiful as the leaves on an autumn tree,
He was happy and comforting,
He showed that he cared like herbal tea when you're sick,
I love a boy.
He reminded me of the winter,
His eyes were as blue and dead as the icicles on a window cell,
His hair was as bright and sad as a winter storm,
He was as cold and rude as winter nights,
He seemed as if his soul was dead like the winter trees,
He made me cry, like the winter.
I loved a boy.
He changed,
But,
Like the seasons,
You couldn't stop him from changing.
But,
unlike the seasons,
He never changed back.
And like the seasons,
I loved him all the same.
I loved a boy. Not a man.

About this poem

In 7th grade I fell in love with a boy. No matter how many years pass I still find a way to hurt him. Not matter how much it hurts.
