Happiness
Zest of winning gooooal!
Freedom in empty gaol.
Dopamine drop of recovered coin.
Hopping sand under sole.
Russssh of bouncing boogie.
Payday’s bank numbers.
Pat of good turn.
Pride in child’s painting.
Lover’s look wanting me.
Laughter in herd’s first drink.
Friendship’s hug and hauling home.
Head full of helping memories.
Smell of showroom car.
V’s mountain crown.

Paul. W. B. Marsden

I am married to Elena and have three grown up children. I love to read - American short stories, biographies, philosophy, French poetry. I enjoy gardening to feel dirt in my hands and take deep breaths after heavy rain. I am addicted to writing poetry, short stories, aphorisms and non-fiction narratives. I hope to be out hill walking again after ill-health throughout 2023 but now looking forwards not backwards. I have worked in many different industries banking, telecommunications, security management, animal charity but mostly construction. For all the terrible news I am optimist that humanity will find a way thrive with respect to rights for all lives and life itself. more…
