Encountering love

Zolile Zoko 2002 (Bloemfontein)

Title: "Encountering Love"

Meeting you, a tale unfurls,
Love revisits, my soul it hurls.
Like a phoenix, hope takes flight,
True love emerges, in the softest light.

Your existence, a sun mid-air,
In the free state, on a day so fair.
November's sun, a brilliant display,
My feelings for you, in sunbeams, array.

Unrelenting, strong, and bright,
Like sunrays, they envelop, a radiant light.
I hope you're not a fleeting sun,
Present only when seasons are spun.

Not just in summer's warm embrace,
But in spring, autumn, and winter's grace.
Your smile, a symphony in my heart,
Filling me completely, a work of art.

When you asked, why no bite to eat?
I smiled, a secret between us, sweet.
Only the heavens and I truly knew,
Your presence alone was enough to fill my soul.
