Dear art

Dear art

Oh, dear art, how you have saved my soul,
From the depths of darkness, you make me whole.
When doubts and fears threaten to consume,
You bring me back, my creative bloom.

In the face of naysayers, I stand tall,
For your love, dear art, will never fall.
Through your colours, brushstrokes, and melodies,
You give me strength, you set me free.

Oh, dear art, your language speaks so loud,
In volumes, it echoes, proud and proud.
I thank you for the spaces you create,
Where respect and admiration await.

You are the reason for my existence,
Through your appreciation, I find persistence.
With you by my side, I'll never be alone,
Together, dear art, our love has grown.

You shield me from the noise and the ill,
With your protection, my spirit is still.
In your embrace, I find peace and joy,
My soul uplifted, no longer coy.

Let the world witness our love's overflow,
As we let our passion and creativity show.
Dear art, thank you for being my guide,
In your presence, I'll forever reside.

Aluncedo Cetywayo

Aluncedo Cetywayo, a vibrant and talented artist, was born on May 21, 1998, in the beautiful city of Cape Town, specifically in the vibrant township of Khayelitsha. Growing up in Pietermaritzburg, she was surrounded by a rich cultural heritage that would shape her artistic journey. It was her former primary school teacher, the charismatic Nkosinathi Nazo, who first introduced Aluncedo to the world of poetry. From that moment, her passion for the arts ignited, and she found herself captivated by the power of acting and storytelling. In 2011, Aluncedo joined the esteemed Mzansi Studio Theatre, a community theater group that thrived on showcasing their talent in various competitions across KwaZulu Natal. Their dedication and commitment to their craft were unparalleled, and Aluncedo flourished under their guidance. In 2015, the Mzansi theater project had the incredible opportunity to audition for the Twist Theatre Development Projects, a transformative experience that spanned from 2015 to 2017. This project aimed to nurture and develop emerging talent, providing performance training, script development, and the chance to exchange creative ideas with theater groups from Durban University of Technology. The Mzansi theater project showcased their incredible work at prestigious events such as the Isigcawu Festival, the Musho International Theatre Festival, the Uhuru Arts Festival, the Wushwini Festival, and the National Arts Festival in 2016. Aluncedo's talent shone through in these performances, and she even had the privilege of writing and performing her own one-man show titled "Chained." Aluncedo's artistic journey extended beyond the stage as well. She collaborated with the Rainbow Theatre Company, a project initiated by the Gay and Lesbian Network. Together, they tackled important social issues such as safe spaces, churches and homophobia, and promoting health awareness through productions like "Zazi Health Production." Aluncedo's dedication to her craft and her community was truly inspiring. Not only did Aluncedo excel in the performing arts, but she also dedicated her time and skills to the Bavulele Ntsikhwe Mbokazi Art Centre, where she volunteered and shared her creative and academic expertise. Her passion for art extended beyond the stage, and she even had the privilege of performing in exhibitions by the renowned Dr. Zanele Muholi. Recently, Aluncedo has embarked on a new chapter in her artistic journey. She has joined the esteemed Muholi Art Institute, based in Cape Town, as a contributing transcriber. This new endeavor allows her to continue creating works of art while immersing herself in a community of like-minded individuals. Aluncedo Cetywayo's story is one of passion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the arts. Her journey has taken her from humble beginnings in Cape Town to stages and exhibitions all over South Africa. With her creativity and talent, there is no doubt that Aluncedo will continue to make a profound impact on the artistic landscape for years to come. more…
