Whispers of the Sylvan Symphony

Catherine Sajonia 2002 (Southern Leyte)

“Whispers of the Sylvan Symphony"

In the bosom of the emerald glade,
Where whispers of the zephyrs cascade,
A tapestry woven with sunlit gleams,
Unfurls in nature's tranquil dreams.

Each leaf a stanza, gently scribed,
By the hand of time, in love imbued,
The arboreal dance, a symphony,
In hues of green, a sylvan decree.

Roots, like tendrils, seek the earth's embrace,
An ode to life, an ancient grace,
Through seasons' ballet, they entwine,
A narrative of growth, divine.

Celestial sentinels, the branches reach,
To touch the sky, lessons they teach,
In every rustle, a whispered lore,
Of cycles eternal, forevermore.

Oh, mighty tree, in splendor stand,
Witness to epochs, grandly planned,
In your shadow, stories untold,
A testament to the ages, manifold.

About this poem

This poem, titled "Whispers of the Sylvan Symphony," is a lyrical exploration of the beauty and significance of a majestic tree within an emerald glade. The verses evoke a sense of enchantment as the zephyrs' whispers cascade through the serene landscape. The imagery woven throughout the poem paints a vivid picture of a tapestry unfurling in nature's tranquil dreams, with each leaf becoming a carefully scribed stanza, an ode to the arboreal dance. The poem gracefully portrays the life cycle of the tree, from roots seeking the earth's embrace to the branches reaching for the sky. Through seasons' ballet, the narrative of growth unfolds like a divine symphony, and the celestial sentinels teach lessons in the rustle of their leaves—a whispered lore of cycles eternal. The closing stanzas pay homage to the mighty tree, standing in splendor and witnessing epochs grandly planned. In its shadow, the poem suggests, lie untold stories—a testament to the ages, manifold. "Whispers of the Sylvan Symphony" is a celebration of nature's timeless beauty, growth, and the stories etched into the fabric of the environment by the enduring presence of a magnificent tree.
