Life is an Old Curiosity Shop

Life is an Old Curiosity Shop-
We all live in our memories.
We dream of those winds of yore
And try to feel them under our chest.

Life is an Old Curiosity Shop-
We peep into it with sentiments.
Where are those fluttering kites?
Where are our umpteen broken toys?

Life is an Old Curiosity Shop-
We search for lost faces and places.
Where are our friends and classmates?
Where are our hamlets and playgrounds?

Life is an Old Curiosity Shop-
Feelings form a strong tide.
Past in many ways haunts us
And into blind alleys do we drift.

Life is an Old Curiosity Shop-
What is the sense of it?
As we grow in our age
Our past becomes our own shadow.
