Wishing You The Best

Edwin Tanguma 1966 (CA)

Wishing You The Best

I don’t think that I
Even have the right
To ask you for
Another chance
After everything
That I’ve put you through
You have the right
To walk away
I can understand
Why you would choose to
After telling
You what I did
I turned and I ran
Because I had thought
That you’d tell me
That you would not
You looked in my eyes
As you stood there-still
Thinking about
Those words I said
I wish you the best
And may you prosper
With the person
Whom you do choose

About this poem

From the dark years collection…This one seemed to have fallen into my lap completely out of queue…I had thought I had finished posting for the evening…Thru and thru…Only 8 remain in the shuffled deck…And a few more that have been placed apart for some reason unbeknownst to me…I have not touched this dark collection nor any of the poems for all of these years…I guess it was time that I faced my demons and infierno from my past…Maybe it is time for me to move on as well…Goodnight people…I must bid ya’ll Adieu…I will not be chasing down your dawn with you anymore…If it remains elusive…Msybe you should try a new approach…Is the shoe soon to be on the other foot. .”Tut Tut”
