                           Dancing Skeletons

It’s Halloween time which means trick or treat,
and the scariest of monsters its time to meet.
They’ll be ghosts and goblins witches and ghouls,
It’s the best time of year, scaring has no rules!

There will be Werewolf’s, Vampires, even big Bats,
Mummies and Phantoms, beware the black Cats!
But the strangest thing you’ll see will put you in a trance,
Beware of the skeletons, the ones who can dance.

From the Mambo to the twist, they can do them all,
They will twist and shout at the Monster Ball.
They will shimmy to the left, and then to the right,
then dance on the ceiling all through the night.
I know what you’re thinking, Skeletons don’t dance,

They’re supposed to scare, your fright to enhance.
The only thing they should do is go out and scare,
But a dancing Skeleton, that has got to be rare.
They don’t have much fun other parts of the year,
just lie around doing nothing is what I hear.

They rather dance and sing and bob for an apple,
To them it’s more fun to party then grapple.
They’ll go door to door and yell trick or treat,
Then compare what they got, man this is sweet.

They eat all they want, they’re nothing but bones,
And love their ice cream, always on cones.
And so, for one time a year, there’s no need to run,
Just remember these skeletons just want some fun.
They’ll be your friend and even make you laugh,

But don’t show them your candy, or they’ll take half!
After Halloween though, I can’t promise they’ll be nice,
They dance just once a year, hardly ever twice.
The rest of the year they just sit around bored,
That doesn’t mean fresh bodies they won’t try to hoard.

So, when it’s dark outside and you’re playing in the street,
And by chance a smiling skeleton you happen to meet.
If the calendar doesn’t say it’s October thirty one,
You better grab your friends, scream, turn, and run!!
