The First Step

Ronald Bunch 1982 (Grand Rapids)

Clothed in love, splendid love.
We feel our hearts beating and we know we are from above.

Black, orange, yellow, blue, gray.
We know there is more to say.

From our mother's womb our tender hearts cry out.
For we know we are weak but strong in God's will no doubt.

We love God in heaven and on earth,
Yet we don't know how much we are worth.

We must take the first step then God
Will come to us. We will suffer if we don't, I nod.

God is waiting for us with love and mercy,
To take that first step seriously.
