Hanging in the balance

Hanging in the balance as there is darkness in the day time. We are Haze Grey and underway. The entire ship is in condition 1 (Battle Stations). I hope this is just another drill but it's not. The scene outside is total blackout from the heavy smoke from the oil refineries being on fire. The Taliban set those on fire trying to deter our Navy ships including mine from going through the channel. Visibility is restricted to just feet infront. We will not give up for that's not in our training. Atleast as a Sailor I'm in the skin of the ship. I feel bad for our ground troops and they're the reason we are advancing through the channel for they need our support. For me personally the harder you make it the more I'm going to fight for my fellowman that's on the right side of freedom and justice for as a human beings if you don't have that kind of heart you have nothing. Our hearts are on on families back home but our minds are on the mission for the ground troops lives are Hanging in the balance of our missions success. On board our lives become about helping them.
