The King of Zion
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Rejoice, O daughter of Zion,
Shout out, girls of Jerusalem;
The King will come like a lion,
For the heathen, He will condemn.
Humbled and mounted on a colt,
Being righteous with salvation;
He will smite those who will revolt,
The upright, a new creation.
The battle bow He will cut off,
And He shall be speaking of peace;
Although they had strife that was tough,
Grace to the righteous will not cease.
From the river unto the sea,
Even to the ends of the earth;
Those deserving shall then be free,
From any more sin giving birth.
For the blood of His covenant,
Free us from the waterless pit;
And it shall then be evident,
What the righteous shall inherit.
So return unto your stronghold,
All of you prisoners of hope;
The plan of the Lord will unfold,
And displaying with the full scope.
He declares that He will restore,
You double what was in the past;
And with having treasures galore,
In a life that will ever last.
He has bent Judah as His bow,
And has made Ephraim His arrow;
That the Sons and daughters will know,
The direction that blessings flow
