Changes

Dennis Terazawa 1939 (California) – 1939 (Hawaii)

Changes

I look out over a calm blue sea;
Clouds form in the distance.
The sky blends with the sea;
The horizon blurs and grays.
The sea troubles and darkens;
Waves pound the beach below.
Wind-driven rain spatters my face;
The sky darkens as clouds drift over.
Sounds of wind and waves assault my ears;
Torrential rain falls all around.
A hesitation, a pause……………..
Wind and rain waver now, just slightly so;
The sky lightens now;
There, a break in the clouds.
A lone ray of light strikes a cresting wave;
Another, and yet another breaks through.
The sun bursts into view;
Reflections scatter off the waves below.
A rainbow arcs across the sky;
Clouds lighten and retreat
Wind and waves subside;
The sky turns clear and blue.
I look out over a calm blue sea…………
