The Genuine Knight : Scars of Honour
"My knight, my love" she softly spoke
Yearning for a man with heart of oak
Not seeking armor that shines bright
But a soul of honour to stand and fight
One scarred from battles, trials and pain
With compassion to help others gain
A man not perfect but genuine
Loyal, respectful and disciplined
Seeking purpose, living morals true
To protect what is good, eschew evil's brew
No need for status, wealth or fame
Only desire your laughter as his aim
A simple life of meaning brings joy
Not trinkets, trifles that time will destroy
"Show me your scars" she whispered light
"Scars not from foes but from your fight
To live each day honor's narrow road
Shining not in mail but humanity's load"
"I care not for knight's shining armor
Only for genuine man's saber rattle"
"Armor tarnishes, man's soul grows"
"Battles lost teach more than those won"
"Your wounds reflect your resilience"
"Trials reveal your moralcadence"
"Let imperfections carve your story"
"Crafting compassion from life's quarry"
"Laugh with me as only lovers do"
"Seeing shared truth from different view"
"Take my hand not to lead but walk together"
"Through life's joys and storms of every weather"
"No need to be perfect or always strong"
"In weakness we help each other along"
"Don't seek to impress with grand actions"
"Small kindness show depths of your passions"
"We all stumble, get lost, feel afraid"
"Stay true to your purpose though plans fade"
"There's no map to guide life's rocky slopes"
"Only love lighting the way with small hopes"
"So shine not with armor but humanity's gleam"
"Scarred not by foes but fighting life's cruel stream"
"Stay tender though the world hardens your skin"
"Let compassion rule where hate settles in"
"Keep morals close through trials and pain"
"Honor defending the helpless, standing for the slain"
"Stay by my side not to lead but to listen"
"Seeing me not as a prize to be won"
"Only wishing to walk side by side"
"Two scarred souls learning from the ride"
"Don't try to impress me with shiny façade"
"Only make me laugh and know your flaws"
"A real man knows himself deep"
"Admits weakness, owns mistakes to keep"
"Seeking not to control or dictate our dance"
"But letting love guide in a spirit of chance"
"So tarnish not your armor for my sake"
"Only reveal your true self though it ache"
"Show me your scars, your pain, your fight"
"To live each day in honor's light"
"A knight in armor means nothing to me "
"Only a flawed man with hope's key"

About this poem
This poem beautifully encapsulates the yearning for a partner whose strength lies not in shining armor, but in a soul marked by battles fought, compassion embraced, and morals upheld. It praises the virtues of imperfection, genuine connections, shared laughter, and the beauty found in scars that reflect resilience and humanity's struggles. It celebrates the essence of a flawed yet honest individual over the facade of a knight in armor, emphasizing the significance of walking hand in hand through life's joys and storms. more »
