Breaking Limits
For the whole flow of time,
Shackles, chains, cages.
That's all I have ever known.
For the whole flow of time,
A prisoner I have been,
Locked away within flesh, blood, and bone.
For the whole flow of time,
Voices have swirled, echoed, and repeated
This cage within my brain is my true home.
For the whole flow of time,
I have lived and breathed, yet not been alive.
Smiles adorn my visage, laughter rings aloud, but inside are moans.
Agony. Brutality. The voices tell me it's no use.
There is no freedom to be had from this abuse.
Rest in mediocrity, do not struggle, my pet.
You cannot break your limits, live in your chains of comfort until death.
For the whole flow of time,
This voice I have, with despair obeyed,
I have begged, pleaded, and prayed,
No answers, am I not worthy to be saved?
Yes, for the whole flow of time,
This voice I have with despair obeyed.
But no more, no, this agony will end today.
The voices will be silenced by the power of my rage.
As anger grows, white hot heat, I strain against my chains,
My will, once flesh and bone, forged into steel, I make new gains,
Strength unbound erupts, assembling shattered shards of my broken soul.
Clang, Clang, Clang.
For the whole flow of time,
Chains have bound me, but no, not today.
Fallen to the ground, chains, chains, fallen away.
No, my dear insecurity, I refuse to stay,
in this prison you have made.
This is a new day, my imprisonment is finished.
For you see, my dear insecurity, I'm breaking my limits.
