Bottled Up Emotions

I never thought you could hurt me
The way you did.
Baby you broke me to the core of my veins.
Trying to love you made me go
Mentally insane.
Trying to get you to trust me had me
Emotionally in a strain.
Telling me you had your house shot up
Broke me down to the grain.
Naive is a limitation to the captivating
Truth of me believing you could've
Ever loved me too.
I was a damn fool, blinded by the
Lies you fed me as a tool.
Honoring and appreciating your value as
My dude wasn't nearly enough to feed
Your big ego.
Lack of empathy warned me that
Sympathy I should not expect that from you.
Walking on pins and needles while
Dealing with you constantly insisting
That I could not be the one for you.
Damn....
I had all the emotions bottled up deep inside
I'm not gonna lie, at night I cried
Feeling as if I was about to fucking die
But at this time I want to say thank you.
Thank you for treating me like
I'm not worth shit.
It made me open my eyes to realize
That I'm worth more then people
Could anticipate my perception and
Aggression come from being paralyzed
I am stuck in a ball of confusion but knowing
I am worth more deep inside.
I say thank you cause I have to learn to
Love me first, and not put no man
Alive before me and my little guys
The poetry I am speaking is blissfully
Coming from the inside so I got to
Learn how to survive without you
Being by my side.
