Less Kept Collected

Often things happen to us all,
To think about.
Before jumping to conclusions.
Or being impulsive.
Making regrettable...
Yet remembered movements.
Done to do the wrong thing to ourselves.

Some things we have are meant to keep.
As a blessing.
And blessings to earn them don't come cheap.

Less possessed to collect it,
Leaves one with more...
Time away,
From comparing who they are...
To someone else.
Doing their best to keep up with appearances.
Done to impress for attention to get.

Some think that way.

Less kept collected,
Has more of a positive effect...
On one's mental health left felt to feel great.
To notice a caring of less...
Who has become stressed out and depressed,
Running in a rat race chased...
By others making referrals,
Of medications they take to keep away...
From appearing to worry about,
Who does what, when and why...
To pretend not to be concerned,
About being judged...
For shopping through bargains.
To find as cheap as possible at a flea market!
Giving all they had once to give away,
To value peace of mind to have more of it.
Accepting to believe possessions to keep,
Are worthless easy to replace commodities!

Some impulsive that way.
Not to expect or accept,
God knows what is best.
For who deserves what and to get!

'Excuse me.
Hi.
What a surprise.
You must have had your things to collect,
Repossessed?'

'Oh?
No.
In fact...
Those things I had,
I donated to this very flea market.
I decided recently...
Too much stuff to have around,
Is pointless.
You know,
Between you and me.
I woke up one day to realize,
Simplicity is my cup of tea.
And that other stuff?
I used to bragg about owning to possess?
I donated and gave to the Salvation Army.
They can use that mess more than I can.
And you?
I'm surprised to see you here too!'

'Just browsing.
Last time,
I found this leather and cashmere coat.
Right in this same place.
Brand new.
I laid my eyes on that coat to know,
It was mine.
Still had the price tag on it.
I got it for ten dollars.'

'With a hand embroidered gold leaf lining.
And a corduroy collar with matching pockets.
Trimmed in emerald green brushed velvet?'

'Wow!
Yes.
How did you know that?
What are you?
Some kind of psychic?'

'No.
 Not at all.
I guess I'm just blessed to see things...
That people like yourself might buy.
You always impressed me,
To have exquisite taste in clothes.
Especially clothes.
And you picked that coat up for what price?'

'Ten dollars!'

'TEN...DOLLARS?'
I would have sold something like that,
For much more!'

'Trust me.
I was thinking the same exact thing.
That's why I'm here looking for the guy,
Who sold it to me.
But I was told...
He had not long ago sold,
This Persian Rug some woman said...
Give it away if you have to.
It's useless to me! I'm downsizing my life.
And check this out...
He sold that rug,
For TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Without a word to say to the buyer.
The buyer had to have known,
A Persian rug could cost much more.
And he and that buyer are now,
Vacationing on the Bahama Islands.
Looking for a condo they can purchase.
With other things that customer gave up!
Can you believe that?'

'Uh...uh...oh...oh...my God!
I wish...
I had known.'

'Known?
Known what?'

'To be here to see,
That exchange to happen.
Instead of being so impulsive,
To leave to rush to somewhere else.
To now think...
What God does to do,
Is meant for a purpose to think first.
Without rushing to do something,
Believed to be more important.
More meaningful.'

'Who you telling?
That's why I came back.
But as rumors have it.
That buyer helped him pack up,
All that stuff.
Closed down the space in this Flea Market.
Not to say a word to anyone else!
To then leave...
Crying like a child given a toy.
Never to believe what is wished comes true.
And together flew to Miami.
For reservations they made,
To take a cruise to The Bahamas.
To either purchase or build a 15 room condo.
I still find that hard to believe.

Are you okay.
You look as if you're getting sick.'

'I'm alright.
I'll be okay.
Suddenly for no apparent reason,
I'm having this headache.
And just a few hours ago,
I was feeling like Santa Claus.'

'YOU?
I'm wondering who the fool is,
That could be that stupid!'

'Feeling stupid sometimes,
Is meant to use our minds.
Before we leap to find,
Quicksand.
As a lesson to learn to look.
Stop and think what may lead,
To that sinking feeling.'

'I never thought about that.
But you know what?'

'What?'

'Listen to me carefully.

If I were you,
I would set up a space somewhere.
And market yourself as a mind reader.
Your 'visions' are spot on.
Keep in touch.
I know some folks you should meet.
They will not believe what I will tell them.'
